FAQ
What types of gutters do you install?
5-inch and 6-inch seamless K-style gutters, professionally measured and custom formed on-site for a clean, exact fit. All of our installations are backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, ensuring long-lasting performance and peace of mind.
How do I know if I need new gutters or repairs?
If you notice leaks, sagging gutters, overflowing water, rust, or water pooling near your foundation, it may be time for repairs or replacement.
At Gutter Methods, we can inspect your system and let you know whether a simple repair will fix it—or if new seamless gutters are the better long-term solution.
What materials are your gutters made from?
Our seamless gutters are made from high-quality 32-gauge aluminum, built to resist rust, handle heavy rainfall, and provide long-lasting performance.
How long does the gutter installation process take?
Installation time depends on the home’s layout and what the homeowner wants, but most seamless gutter installs are typically completed in one day — often in less than a day.
Do you offer gutter cleaning and maintenance services?
Yes — we offer professional gutter cleanings and quarterly maintenance services to keep your gutters flowing properly and protect your home year-round.
How much does gutter installation typically cost?
Gutter installation cost depends on the home’s layout and the materials/features you choose, but our basic pricing starts at $12 per linear foot for 6-inch seamless K-style gutters and $10 per linear foot for 5-inch seamless gutters.
Will you provide a free estimate or consultation?
Yes — we provide free estimates and consultations. We’ll come out, take free measurements, inspect your current gutter system, review your drainage needs, and provide a no-obligation quote with professional recommendations.
What size gutters do I need for my home?
The right gutter size depends on your home’s layout, roof pitch, and how much water your roof sheds during heavy rain. In general, if you have a steep roof—especially if you’re closer to the ocean where storms hit harder—6-inch gutters are the best option for handling higher water flow. If your roof has a lower pitch, you can often get by with 5-inch gutters, but we typically recommend 6-inch gutters to better handle the chaotic Carolina storms we get each year.
Can you install gutters on any type of roof?
Yes — we can install seamless gutters on most roof types, including standard shingle roofs, metal roofs, and more. We custom fit every system to your home’s layout to ensure proper drainage, a clean look, and long-lasting performance.
How do gutters protect my home from water damage?
Gutters protect your home by safely directing rainwater away from the roof and foundation. This helps prevent foundation damage, soil erosion, landscaping washout, basement leaks, and rot or staining on fascia and siding. A properly installed gutter system is one of the best ways to protect your home from costly water damage.
What warranties do you offer on gutter installation?
All of our gutter installations are backed by a Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, giving you long-term peace of mind that your gutters were installed properly and built to last.
How often should gutters be inspected or cleaned?
We recommend having your gutters inspected and cleaned at least twice a year—typically in the spring and fall. Here in the Carolinas, more frequent cleanings are often needed due to heavy storms, pine needles, and debris, which can cause clogs and overflow quickly.
Do you install gutter guards or covers?
Yes — we install gutter guards and covers. Our primary recommendation is Leaf Blaster Pro, one of the best systems available, backed by a 40-year lifetime manufacturer warranty. It’s designed to help prevent pine needles and debris from getting into your gutters and causing clogs—something many other guard brands still struggle with. We also offer other gutter guard options to fit any home and budget.
What is the best gutter system for heavy rainfall areas?
For heavy rainfall areas, the best option is 6-inch seamless K-style gutters. Compared to 5-inch systems, 6-inch gutters handle a much higher water volume, reducing overflow during heavy storms, improving drainage with steep rooflines, and offering better protection against foundation washout and water damage.
Are your installers licensed and insured?
Yes — our installers are licensed and fully insured, so you can feel confident knowing your home is protected and your project is handled professionally from start to finish.
Can you handle commercial gutter installation projects?
Yes — we handle commercial gutter installation projects as well. We have completed many commercial jobs and have the experience, equipment, and crew to install reliable gutter systems on commercial buildings of all sizes.
How do I maintain gutters to prevent clogs and damage?
To prevent clogs and damage, keep your gutters clean and flowing by removing leaves, pine needles, and debris regularly—especially after storms. Make sure downspouts drain away from the home, check for loose hangers or sagging sections, and schedule routine inspections/cleanings at least twice a year. Gutter guards can also help reduce buildup and maintenance.
What options are available for gutter color and style?
We offer seamless gutters in the most popular standard colors, white and black, included in our basic pricing. If you’d like a different color to better match your home, we can often order additional options based on your preference—these custom colors may cost a little more than standard black or white.
Can you repair my existing gutters or only install new ones?
Yes — we can repair existing gutters as well as install new systems. If your gutters are still in good shape, we’ll recommend the most cost-effective repair. However, if they’re heavily damaged, leaking in multiple areas, or too worn out, we may recommend upgrading to a new seamless gutter system for the best long-term results.
How do I schedule an appointment for installation or service?
Scheduling is easy — just call or text us, and we’ll set up a time for a free estimate, installation, or service. We’ll confirm the appointment, review your needs, and take care of the rest.
